Places to visit

The SkyWalk allows you to get a unique experience, walking around the open ledge located at the Sky Tower. For the more adventurous, you can have a go at the SkyJump ,where you will be harnessed and able to jump down 192 meters off the SkyTower.

Rangitoto Island

Auckland’s most iconic island, Rangitoto is a dormant volcanic that is just off the coast from the central city. Take a short ferry from the city to walk or do a guided tour to the summit for spectacular views, or glide across the harbour via paddle power on a sunset kayak tour.

Rainbows End

Rainbows End, is fantastic for the thrill seeker as the theme park holds over 20 rides. You can look at all the rides and book tickets here

West Coast Beaches

Just an hour from central Auckland is the rugged west coast, with black sandy beaches. Visit Piha, a popular surf beach.

Queen Street is the iconic central street in Auckland for boutique shops like Prada, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Plus if you love fashion there is the adjoining streets, High Street and Chancey Street where you can find vintage stores and boutiques.

Parnell has up market boutiques and jewellery shops to look around in as you walk through the streets enjoying what New Zealand city streets have to offer. Parnell gives you the day to shop around the oldest suburb in Auckland.

Ponsonby has may stylish boutiques, and make sure you give K Road a visit with its quirky precinct, offering designer , edgy and retro clothing.

Auckland is great for walking and cycling  as they have many cycle ways and walkways in and around the city.

The city has three main modes of transport, the bus, ferry and train. As all of these are run by AT Metro.

If you want to travel around New Zealand via plane, get to Auckland Airport via the skybus, that operates all day every day with prices starting at $18 one way for an adult.
